Floodplain Delineations

100-year floodplain delineation at Carlsbad, New Mexico:

HEC-2 modeling was used to delineate the 100-year floodplain for a new subdivision in Carlsbad, New Mexico to meets the requirements to maintain a development buffer outside the area of inundation.

100-year floodplain delineation for the San Luis Gold Mine:

A watershed characterization was developed on Rito Seco so that 100-year floodplain limits could be delineated for the mining project to evaluate placement of the mine facilities. The results of this analysis were utilized in the mine permitting process to demonstrate that all mine facilities would be outside the 100-year floodplain.
